G/T Services @ KRES
Gifted Services in Comal ISD
Here in Comal ISD, our elementary services are two-fold. First, our students are placed in cluster groupings within their general education classroom with teacher who have been trained to meet the needs of our gifted learners and are expected to differentiate lessons to meet those needs. In addition, our elementary G/T students also attend a once-per-week pullout to focus on problem-solving, critical thinking, research and communication. I am the facilitator of services on campus, both a resource for their classroom teacher and the teacher of their pullout program, which we call SAGE (Significant Activities for Generating Excellence) or G/T. Our pullouts begin the second week of school.
What We Do During G/T
During G/T pullouts, students engage in challenging, hands-on learning experiences designed to strengthen critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Through a variety of individual and group projects—from research and inquiry to coding, design, and innovation—students are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, work together, and develop solutions to meaningful challenges. Parents will receive a monthly newsletter letting them know all about what's going on during G/T!
